Absences
If your child is unable to attend school then please let the school know by 8.30am of the day that are absent.
You can do this in several ways:
By Phone – The phone number is 01869 252393 ext 1. You can call the school office at any time and leave a message on our voicemail to report an absence. It is not necessary to wait until the school opens to do this, you can call at any time.
Online Absence Reporting – CLICK HERE to report your child absent from school. This can be done at any time of the day or night.
At the School Office – you can attend in person to report the absence, we are open from 8.40am
Request for absence
Sometimes there are exceptional reasons why your child cannot be in school and this absence must be given in writing. Absence for holidays during term time cannot be authorised and you may be issued with a Penalty Notice if there are more than 6 sessions (3 days) marked as ‘unauthorised’ in one term. If a pupil’s attendance is lower than 95% in a 60 day period then the parent is contacted by letter and attendance monitored. Written absence reporting can be sent to schooloffice@st-edburgs.oxon.sch.uk
Lateness
If your child arrives after 9:05am they are ‘late’ for school and this is marked in the register. If your child is often late then this would be of concern and the matter could be referred to the Attendance and Engagement Team.
