Medicines

The only medicines which can be administered by staff in school are those prescribed for the pupil. Commercially available medications including Calpol will not be administered by any member of staff.

Staff are not obliged to administer any medicines but we realize that sometimes it is not practical for a parent to come into school to do this and we can make exceptions. If your child is on prescribed medication then staff can only administer this once an administration form has been completed. These are available here for you to download or from the school office.

Medical Forms for Trips

Rather than completing a medical form for each visit or club we take the medical details from your child’s school application form and/or updated data checking sheet that you can amend annually. Should these details change then it is essential that you inform the office staff immediately.

It is advisable to mention any medical needs on permission slips for clubs or visits – for example, if your child needs an inhaler for asthma.
